Could it learn tricks similar to the ones that the famous African Grey "Alex"? Can it learn to distinguish shapes from shapes, colours from colours, and learn to play dead?What other sorts of tricks can they learn. Oh, and can it come into the shower with me (if i trained it enough of course) , so we can both bathe at the same time? Ive seen a video of a bird on youtube that dunked its head under running water on a tap. So they can't be that afraid of water right?

We have a 6 year old African Grey that is a part of the family. He likes to be on top of his cage and always in the same room as us. Sometimes he flies down to the ground. Yesterday, we adapted a 5 month Vizsla puppy. She is very hyper and freaked out when she saw the bird. I don't want to keep the bird in a cage all the time but I'm concerned about his safety. Is is possible to train the dog to not be aggressive towards the bird? Does anyone have birds and dogs cohabitating in the same house?
